Cailin's cousins, Grace and Josie stopped through Cedar Falls for visit!

Big BIRTHDAY Day!!

Happy Birthday to the most influential person in my life....my MOTHER! My mom is many things to me, she is a rock, consistantly strong and supportive and always quietly there and available for me. She has been a great example to me, I hope to be able to provide the same support and guidance to Cailin as she grows!

Also, it is my Grandma (Rose - Namesake to me and Cailin) Meester's birthday. She would have been 102 years old today. I think of her often, even more since I have had Cailin. ...Grandma's husband passed away when Mom was 5. Grandma raised 4 children and ran a cafe in George, IA, by herself. She possessed a lot of the same strength as Mom. I hope it runs in the family! Grandma was very witty and LOVED to play cards! She passed away at 99 years of age. I am thankful for the time I was able to spend with her.

Leon's last week

This is Leon's last week at UNI. I think it is full of sadness, excitement and apprehension. He worked his last UNI game on Friday. (I made him take a picture with me, its the last picture of us working together! :( )With each day, we are more used to the idea of leaving Cedar Falls. It is the most difficult to think about leaving his family and our friends!!
We had the inspection on the house today....it went well. Just one step closer to finalizing the sell!!! We were only asked to replace the light bulb under the microwave! Uh, OKAY!
Murphy spent the day with his 'friend' Wrigley. It was their first meeting, I don't think it went too well. Murphy isn't the greatest with other dogs..he is just used to being an only child!! He also likes to play with the rabies tag on his collar and chase his own tail?? SO, maybe he's a little 'different'?
Tonight we had the opportunity to have a awesome supper with the Hartzell's (our old boss)! It was so nice to catch up, it had been a long time.

Cailin is doing well. It is amazing how much she is growning up! It seems like everyday she is growing. For awhile I thought the dryer was shrinking her clothes! :)

Now we're rolling....

Instead of packing, I am posting my first video! :) Cailin is rolling from her tummy to her back. We're not sure she knows she is doing it, because she doesn't do it all the time.

BIG News!

Cailin's 3 month pictures! She was 3 months on Wednesday.

See, it's been a whole week, I knew I would be bad at this! But, it has been a very busy week. Last Friday Leon accepted a job as the Senior Associate Athletic Director at South Dakota State University - in Brookings, SD. Since then we have been in planning stage: work, daycare, moving, sell house, going away parties!!!! :)

Leon's last day at UNI is Feb. 26, my last day will be March 5. We will be moving to Brookings on March 10th or 11th. Leon will start at SDSU on March 15.

We got some good news yesterday! We had someone walk through our house on Tuesday. We officially listed it on Wednesday, we had two showings set up by noon. At 4:00 pm on Wednesday we got and accepted an offer from the Tuesday showing. The inspection is Tuesday, if all goes well we will close March 24! YEA!!!

Cailin had a developmental appointment on Tuesday. She is reaching all of her milestones! They even weighed her in at 10 lbs. 11 oz and measured her at 24"!!

Exhausted, Tummy Time and Skyping

The first week of daycare is coming to a close. I am really missing the ability to sleep in in the morning!! I was feeling like today was a good day to put Cailin in this onesie! :) [My parents are exhausted]

We have been working a lot on tummy time!! Cailin is liking it a little more the she used to. She would prefer to sit up, she might sit before she rolls over!

Our nights have been very busy with tummy time and SKYPE! My sister, mom and brother are all on Skype...you wouldn't know that we are in Iowa, Arkansas and Michigan! We get to see each other all the time! Cailin won't know what to do when she sees her family in the flesh!

I have to admit our Thursday night guilty pleasure -- Real Housewives of Orange County! I just love it! Got home from supper with the girls - Leon was watching it!

6 hours!!!

It happened....last night Cailin went 6 hours between her feedings!! YEA! She went from 10:30 pm - 4:30 am!! We were so excited. Leon said, is this the first time she has been up...in complete disbelief!
She had a great day at daycare. She was so tired when she came home! I am still unclear on how I am supposed to get everything done at night, when all I want to do is hold her! Pizza Hut may be getting a lot of phone calls!! ;)
Oh, Murphy survived is first day kenneled up in a LONG time too!! He was all ready to play last night.
Well, now that this blog is going, I should be caught up on all the multi-media out there..

New at this!!

Okay---so, people keep asking me when I am going to start a blog! The truth is the pressure of keeping a blog up-to-date frightens me! It is quite a committment! Oh, and the fact that I could possibly be exposing my deepest, darkest secret -- I am a terrible speller! It will be obvious, if you visit this blog often. Well, now that my fears are shared - we can get started!

Today was my first day back at work! I didn't think I could be away from work for three months, but I seemed to have managed just fine. As well, so did work. It's like they didn't even need me! :) I am ready to pick Cailin up from Daycare. When I dropped her off this, there were two other kids there....just hanging out as quiet as can be. I felt very comfortable leaving her there - I know Cailin will like Karyn! I can't wait to hold and kiss Cailin all night!!! AND it's Monday night FUN night....gotta love the shows tonight (two and a half men, how i met your mother).

Oh, for those who aren't in Iowa -- we have MORE snow today! They even canceled night classes on campus! Leon is going to shovel after work. Maybe one of these days he will buy a snow blower!!!!!
